CLIENT STORIES

Hi, I'm Peiwei Cobo, the co-director of Cobo Brothers Dance Company (CBDC). I love to dance; I am a professional Salsa dancer, but I also train in Ballet and Jazz. I most recently spent this past May choreographing and helping stage 'In The Heights' for Raleigh Little Theater.

My pain started once the pandemic shutdowns were over. In gearing up for more performances and classes, I would often train 6+ hours a day. I also spent much of my free time out social dancing on weekends. All these extra hours started to take a toll on my body.

After a full year of ramping back up on my dancing, I realized that I needed some help. I started to require breaks in the middle of Ballet class and in the midst of teaching Salsa because of ankle and knee pain. I also realized I could not balance well on pointe, and my knees and lower back would start to complain within a half hour. I spent countless hours stretching and rolling out different parts of my body to try to alleviate my pain.

I first went to MVMT Physical Therapy in March 2022 and don't know where I would be without it. Within 3 sessions, I was able to make it through an entire Ballet class on pointe without pain or restriction.

Not only did Anastasia fix my knees and ankle, but she also went out of her way to fix my shoulder as it was very uncomfortable to sleep on. It felt like my shoulder was “sliding out of place” while lying in bed. Within one session, I had an exercise that would greatly decrease my shoulder discomfort, and by the next session, we had identified that one of the stunts I was doing during choreography was causing the shoulder issue.

Currently, I continue to train, compete, and choreograph, and the exercises continue to be beneficial and effective almost immediately if anything begins to hurt again!
